Oludayo Alamu, M.Eng, B. ChE. Board Treasurer

Engr. Oludayo S. Alamu is a seasoned Engineering professional with several years of working experience in both Academic and Industrial environments on renewable energy design projects with a focus on sustainability.

His background in Chemical Engineering with a bachelor’s degree arose his passion for making worth out of waste via the process of renewable energy production from biomass. He holds a Master of Engineering degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering with core interests in Sustainable Energy Design. He is currently pursuing his doctoral program in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Maryland’s preeminent public research university.

Oludayo was part of the team that pioneered the production of ethanol fuel from agricultural products in Nigeria where he served as the pioneer production engineer in the first government-owned bio-distillery plant in 2015. He has contributed to promoting access to clean energy across five countries in Africa. In Maryland, his research work focuses on solving environmental problems by converting the highly voluminous poultry waste in the Chesapeake Bay Area to useful energy for poultry farms. His research work has received international recognition, presented at several international conferences within and outside the USA, and had published several scholarly journal articles. In 2020, he was selected to serve in the University’s Intellectual Property Committee (IPC) with pending patents.
